Curzon Capital Limited was founded in 1999 by Christopher Derricott and William Graham and is authorised and regulated in the UK by The Financial Services Authority as a corporate finance advisory firm. The firm is dedicated to structuring and distributing innovative, tax-efficient investment products primarily for promotion through the UK IFA community to sophisticated investors, but also for promotion to UK and certain overseas financial institutions. Benefiting from its small and talented team of professionals, Curzon has a pool of knowledge and experience that it brings to bear on the most complex of financial solutions, rendering them easily understandable and saleable.
Having started life during the “dot.com” boom as a corporate finance boutique advising technology companies on first and second-round financing, Curzon gained authorization to establish and operate unregulated collective investment schemes. In 2002 it sponsored its first such scheme in the form of the Movision film production partnerships. Over the course of two years Curzon succeeded in raising over £50m for investment into British film productions. Following on from this success Curzon sponsored the Carbon Trading Partnerships – a geared investment into a sustainable forestry business designed to generate high returns from carbon credits and harvestable timber. Over a two year period a total of £350m was invested into these partnerships, thus making a direct contribution to reversing the process of climate change. Curzon continues to provide regulatory compliance services to a number of unregulated collective investment schemes.
As part of its continuing corporate finance advisory business Curzon is currently involved in fund-raising exercises for a business trading in discounted UK property and a bio-tech business looking to finance the human trials of an innovative drug for the treatment for Type 2 Diabetes.
